“When I’m racing 12 or 24 hours my lights need to be lightweight (especially on my helmet) and bright enough so that I can keep up my speed in the dark. The TriNewt and MiNewt are two of the greatest lights I have ever worked with by far. Now I can keep up the pace when the sun goes down!”

Monique “Pua” Sawicki – 2007 24 Hour Solo National Mountain Bike Champion

MONIQUE "PUA"
SAWICKI

Originally from Hawaii, "Pua" started racing in college as a cross-country runner. Eventually she found herself deep into triathlons and road racing. After qualifying for the Ironman World Championships she moved to California. Monique met her husband on a mountain bike ride and the two of them became training partners. They started adventure racing together and finally moved into mountain bike racing this past year. Athletes typically go through an “up-and-coming” phase before bursting onto the scene and putting their stamp on a sport. Monique skipped that whole phase and totally dominated the women's field in her first ever 24-hour race and beat all but 4 of the men's field. Since her introduction to the sport, Monique has established herself as one of North America's most talented riders.
